Sharjah Airport Authority recently revealed its performance results for 2023, in line with the agenda of the annual airport management meeting held at Buhais Geology Park in Al Madam, Sharjah.

In an atmosphere of welcome and celebration, pilgrims recently departed from Sharjah Airport to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj rituals, and airport staff offered gifts and traditional Arabian hospitality to the passengers.

Sharjah Airport recently welcomed the inaugural flight of Nile Air, one of the largest private airlines in Egypt, which flew in from Cairo International Airport. The carrier will operate two flights a week between Sharjah and Cairo on Friday and Sunday.

Over three million passengers travelled in the first quarter (Q1) of of this yar through Sharjah Airport, witnessing an increase of 119,2 percent as compared to 1,3 million passengers in the same period in 2021. The aircraft movement for the same term also marked an increase in the number of flights by 89 percent with 21,336 flights, compared to 11,279 flights in 2021.

The Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA) inaugurated the East Expansion project, which extends over an area of 4000 m2.
