Queen Alia International Airport Welcomes AnadoluJet Inaugural Flight

Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) received the first Anadoluet flight from Trabzon on June 06.

The arrival of the Turkish low-cost carrier, a fully-owned subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, marked the commencement of direct flights between Amman and four Turkish cities - Trabzon, Ankara, Bodrum and Dalaman - underscoring efforts to grow QAIA’s airline network and offer passengers a wider range of direct routes.

The inaugural flight was greeted with the customary ‘water arch’ salute - in the presence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Amman, H.E. İsmail Aramaz, and representatives from Airport International Group and Turkish Airlines.

“We are pleased to welcome the first AnadoluJet flight as the Government of Jordan continues to gradually lift restrictions and reopen sectors and activities, which will ultimately help to regain passengers confidence in air travel. This step contributes to the progressive reestablishment of our airline network and the expansion of travel options available to our passengers, while also directly stimulating tourism and enhancing QAIA’s standing as a safe haven for travelers and employees and as Jordan’s prime gateway to the world,” commented Nicolas Claude, CEO, Airport International Group.
