The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH) issued a circular for the operators of tourist accommodation facilities to ban massage services in tourist accommodation facilities, except for five- star or four-star hotels and its spas according to specific requirements and clear criteria in the fields of safety and discipline.
This shall apply after these facilities obtain the statutory licenses to provide this service from the relevant government agencies.
Omar bin Abdul Aziz Al-Mubarak, director general, general department, licensing, SCTH, requested the operators of the tourist accommodation facilities not to provide massage service, and not to allow the workers of the external massage centres to live in the tourist accommodation facilities, to enable them to practice their profession there.
