QAIA Welcomes Four Million Passengers during H1

Over the course of the first six months of this year (H1), Jordan’s Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed 3,884,518 passengers, registering a 7.6 percent year-on-year increase, according to figures released by Airport International Group.

This is considered to further cement the airport’s standing as a key Jordanian landmark and active contributor to the national economy as well as the transport and tourism sectors.

Since the beginning of the year until the end of June, QAIA also witnessed 36,301 aircraft movements and handled 47,282 tonnes of cargo - amounting to increases of 1.1 percent and 1.5 percent respectively - compared to the same period in 2017.

Top destinations contributing to this notable growth were Alexandria, Antalya, Baghdad, Cairo, Doha, Istanbul, Kuwait, Paphos and Rome.
