Egypt's Tourism Revenues Rise

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) data showed that Egypt's revenues from tourism jumped by 155.2 percent during the first nine months of the current fiscal year compared to the same period of 2016-2017.

Egypt's revenues from tourism from July to March 2017 reached about USD7.25 billion, compared to USD2.84 billion in the same period in 2017. By 2017, Egypt's revenues from the tourism sector jumped by 123.5 percent to about USD7.6 billion, with the number of tourists coming to the country rising 53.7 percent to about 8.3 million.
