With over 30 years of experience with InterContinental Hotels Group, Franke is a strong believer of the brand and brings hands-on know-how in senior management positions at various InterContinental properties.
Previously area general manager IHG East Africa and general manager InterContinental Nairobi, Franke is not a stranger to Cairo, he formerly held a managerial food & beverage position at Semiramis InterContinental Cairo in 1996.
A German national and a hospitality veteran, Franke joined the InterContinental Hotels Group as a Management Trainee in Frankfurt in 1988. He has since then held numerous leadership positions within the company across Europe, Middle East and Africa in some of IHG’s flagship hotels like Phoenicia InterContinental Beirut, InterContinental Dubai Festival City, and Crowne Plaza & Staybridge Suites Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
As part of his new role, Franke will be leading the InterContinental Cairo CityStars hotel and will also be responsible of the IHG hotel portfolio in Egypt including properties located within the CityStars complex that comprise three different brands; InterContinental, Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites in addition to the historic Semiramis InterContinental and Holiday Inn Maadi.
