Qatar Airways to Launch Direct Gothenburg Flights

Qatar Airways will launch direct five-times weekly flights to Gothenburg, Sweden, starting December 12, creating the airline’s second Swedish gateway after Stockholm.

Taking place on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, the flights will be served with a Boeing B787-8 aircraft, featuring 22 seats in business class and 232 seats in economy class.

Akbar Al Baker, group CEO, Qatar Airways, commented, “This new direct route demonstrates our commitment to expanding our presence in the Nordic countries, a highly important market for us, and to further connecting these destinations on our global network.”

Jonas Abrahamsson, CEO, Swedavia, noted Sweden boasts the largest economy in Scandinavia, and currently also the strongest in Europe.

He said new direct routes were an important contributing factor, as they improved connectivity to markets that are crucial to the Swedish business community.
