Qatar Airways marked a milestone in its history with Bulgaria, celebrating 10 successful years since its first flight between Doha and Sofia Airport (SOF) on  September 14, 2011.

The governing board of the oneworld alliance has appointed Qatar Airways Group chief executive H.E. Akbar Al Baker as chairman.

H.E. Akbar Al Baker, Group CEO, Qatar Airways Group addressed key leaders in the aviation industry including government officials, airline CEOs, aviation industrialists and senior dignitaries among others, as part of the International Aviation Summit, a two-day event taking place in New Delhi, India.

Qatar Airways’ ultra-modern Airbus A350-1000 will join the airline’s John F. Kennedy International Airport route starting October 28, the airline’s first commercial route to the US to be operated with this aircraft.

Qatar Airways will launch direct five-times weekly flights to Gothenburg, Sweden, starting December 12, creating the airline’s second Swedish gateway after Stockholm.

On March 27 – 28, Qatar Airways participated in the Qatar-UK Business and Investment Forum, which took place in both London and Birmingham.
