Tantawy began his career in the hospitality industry in 1988 at El Gezira Sheraton Hotel, where he held positions in a number of departments including rooms division along with sales and marketing.

Since then, Tantawy has served in various five-star hotel brands in Cairo including Le Meridien and Grand Hyatt and was also part of InterContinental Cairo Citystars’ opening team.
