Morocco and WHO Reveal Future Partnership

Anass Doukkali, minister, health, Morocco, held talks in Geneva with Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director-general, World Health Organization (WHO), to enhance cooperation between Morocco and the organisation.

Specifically, discussions included means to promote the Kingdom's sectoral health strategy, in particular in the areas of universal health coverage, health sector governance and health security.

Ghebreyesus notably mentioned Moroccan expertise in the management of health emergencies, such as the Ebola epidemic, stressing the spirit of solidarity that Morocco has displayed towards the African countries through maintaining airline connections.

Morocco seeks to enhance its cooperation with WHO towards carrying out several flagship programmes. At the end of their meeting, both parties agreed to carry on contacts with a view to explore avenues for better collaboration on strategic priorities.
