Dhabab Resort in Quriyat to Open in 2020

H.E. Ahmed bin Nasser bin Hamad al Mehrzi, minister of tourism, Oman, paid an inspection visit to the Dhabab Resort, which is under construction in Quriyat.

The minister told reporters that the Dhabab Resort is unique and internationally managed. “An agreement has been signed with Melia International, one of the world’s leading companies in the management and operation of hotels,” he said.

He added that Oman has been able to attract international companies in the management of hotel facilities. “This is evidence of investors’ confidence in the sultanate. This will be an addition to the tourism sector in the sultanate when it opens.”

Abdul Razzaq Ali Issa al Sabbagh, one of the project partners, said, “This is the first five-star resort being built in Quriyat, between Muscat and Sur. Around 60 percent construction is complete and it is expected to be fully complete in the first quarter of 2020.”

The resort has an advantage of being close to Najm park, Wadi al Arbaeen, Wadi Shab and Wadi Dayqah. It is also a tourist destination for lovers of water sports, water skiing, diving, fishing and other activities.

The resort consists of 92 rooms with sea and mountain views, including 24 chalets overlooking the sea directly, and includes three luxury suites and five additional suites, and provides many facilities for visitors, including two swimming pools, a health club and squash court.

The resort will be managed by Melia Group, a global hotel management group that is one of the largest hotel operators in Europe and the third largest in the world.
