Revenue reached AED93 billion (USD25.3 billion), a decrease of three percent over 2015. Both Emirates and dnata registered their highest profits ever with AED7.1 billion (USD1.9 billion) and AED1 billion (USD287 million), respectively.
The airline carried a record 51.9 million passengers, a rise of eight percent, and achieved a 76.5 percent load factor.
During the period, the group invested over AED17.3 billion (USD4.7 billion) in new aircraft and equipment, the acquisition of companies, modern facilities, the latest technologies and staff initiatives, said H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman, Emirates Group.
