The value marked an increase of 166,4 percent over the previous month and a rise of 8,6 percent when compared with the last 12-month average of USD9,59 billion.

In terms of number of deals, the sector saw a drop of 18,8 percent over the last 12-month average with 95 deals against the average of 117 deals.

In value terms, Europe led the activity with deals worth USD8,97 billion.

The top five tourism and leisure deals accounted for 89,6 percent of the overall value during February.

The combined value of the top five tourism and leisure deals stood at USD9,33 billion, against the overall value of USD10,41 billion recorded for the month.
