The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage has revealed new archaeological finds which were revealed during the first season of the excavation project at Halit archaeological site in Al-Dawadmi Governorate in Riyadh region.
This proved the importance of the site through revealing a number of ancient urban ruins.
Ajab Al-Otaibi, director, National Heritage Department, at Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage at Riyadh, said that the excavation revealed a mosque that mediates a settlement built after the style of the first Islamic era, and models of houses consisting of yards, storage rooms and work areas containing furnaces to melt and treat metals.
