Deutsche Hospitality Funds Asmant Water Supply

German luxury hotel brand Deutsche Hospitality has teamed up with climate protection organisation atmosfair to set up a second self-sufficient water treatment plant in the Egyptian desert.

Having already launched a water treatment plant in El Kefah, Deutsche Hospitality has now also funded the second such facility in Asmant, situated to the South-West of Cairo.

Photovoltaic modules on the roof of the plant mean no external electricity source is needed and no emissions produced. The system also filters out all heavy metals and disinfects the water.

As a result, some 10,000 people in Asmant have begun enjoying access to clean drinking water, financed by the Deutsche Hospitality 1x1 scheme, which donates EUR1 to charitable causes for every booking made via Steigenberger and IntercityHotel websites.
