Oikonomopoulos will oversee all the hotel’s operations and lead the execution of the long-term strategy focused on diversifying Mondrian’s offer and clientele, engage with the leadership team at Mondrian Doha to revive its partnership strategy, and reaffirm the property’s positioning as one of the leading lifestyle hotels in the Middle East and globally.

Prior to joining Mondrian Doha, Oikonomopoulos successfully launched the first Mondrian hotel in Asia – Mondrian Seoul Itaewon, named as the ‘Most Exciting Hotel Opening in Seoul’ and boasting 296 rooms and five restaurants and bars.
Previously, he spent seven years with Shagri-La Group, holding different positions: leading hotel operations in Malaysia and Sri-Lanka, regional Food & Beverage management across multiple properties in the Middle East region, and as a corporate director of hotel openings based in Hong Kong.
Oikonomopoulos acquired a hands-on understanding of the Middle East hospitality by working with leading Accor properties in Cairo and Dubai as director of food and beverage. Within Accor group, he also held the position of corporate director in bars and beverage between 2007 and 2008.
