A global initiative aiming to highlight the importance of alternative energy solution by turning off the unnecessary lights and electronics for one hour to send a message about environmental awareness and action in order to preserve it.

In collaboration with Bike, a group of bicycles were displayed on stands and converted as power generator in order to light up a miniature model of the hotel demonstrated at the Oryx Rotana’s lobby specially designed and constructed for the occasion.

Lighting up the model through the electricity generated by the bicycles rather than normal electricity comprise a message to the hotel’s guests and visitors as well as the local community to reduce excessive energy consumption.

The initiative attracted the hotel’s guests and visitors where everyone expressed their admiration, interaction and support to electricity usage reduction and enhancing the preservation of the environment and natural resources for a more sustainable and bright future. Moreover, the interesting and fun activity encouraged the audience to adapt sports as a lifestyle by participating in the bicycle pedalling.
