Aqueducts Discovered in Ancient City of Fayd

A team of Saudi archaeologists found traces of underground aqueducts dating back to the early Islamic period in the archaeological city of Fayd in Hail.

The city of Fayd in Hail is one of the ancient archaeological and historical cities lying east of the city of Hail, about 120 km away. It is the third city of the old Darb Zubaydah pilgrimage route (Zubaydah Trail), after Kufa and Basra and it is the largest station on the Iraqi pilgrimage route (Darb Zubaydah).

The excavation team was distributed on to the sites according to specific groups so that excavation work would begin at the historic city of Fayd.

A large number of architectural sites were uncovered, the most important of which was uncovering an ancient Islamic early mosque which goes back to the early Islamic era.
