 Emirates has operated its first milestone demonstration flight on a Boeing 777-300ER, powering one of its engines with 100 percent Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The flight took off from Dubai International Airport (DXB), and was commanded by Captain Fali Vajifdar and Captain Khalid Nasser Akram, flying for more than one hour over the Dubai coastline.

Cyprus Airways recently announced that after long negotiations it has secured relevant permission and landing slots to operate up to three weekly flights to the UAE’s most populous city, Dubai. Flights will operate to and from Dubai International Airport (DXB).

Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, announced the return of some of its favourite beach destinations for this year’s summer season, as the airline also adds the new route of Goa to its expanding network, which increases the number of Indian destinations on the airline’s network to nine.

The global aviation analytics group OAG has named Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, as the most punctual airline in the Middle East and among the most reliable in the world. 

Jazeera Airways recently announced the launch of a new route to Moscow, Russia, serving an increasing demand for flights to the Middle East region and beyond. Jazeera will be the first airline to operate flights between the two cities.

In line with Bahrain cloud first policy, Gulf Air has collaborated with Amazon Web Services (AWS), a leading cloud services provider, to deliver a resilient infrastructure to handle the transition of the core IT systems from the airline’s headquarters to the AWS cloud solution which will be used in the unlikely case of emergencies and operational disruptions.

Jazeera Airways continues its expansion in the Middle East, Asia and Europe and recently announced a new direct service from Kuwait to the capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe, opening a new route that connects pilgrims to Saudi Arabia as well as offers a new travel destination for nature and adventurous culture seekers.

Jazeera Airways launched its second service to Kazakhstan, flying to the city of Turkistan in the south of the country twice weekly and connecting pilgrims and tourists for the first time with direct flights between the Middle East and the country.

Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the UAE, and World Energy, a carbon-net-zero solutions provider,  recently announced the signing of a historical memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a long-term strategic partnership to decarbonize flights through in-sector emissions reductions. Etihad is the first commercial airline to participate in World Energy’s recently launched service for airline and corporate climate leaders taking real action to achieve net-zero goals.
