2018 saw strong growth for Egyptian travel and tourism as it became the fastest-growing country in North Africa, growing by 16,5 percent - second only to Ethiopia when reviewing the whole continent.

Arrivals from the Middle East to Egypt are expected to increase 50 percent from 1,49 million in 2018 to 2,23 million in 2022 with visitors from Saudi Arabia driving this growth, according to data published ahead of Arabian Travel Market 2019 (ATM), which takes place at Dubai World Trade Centre from April 28 –  May 01.
