flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, recently announced that Catania and Naples in Italy, Salzburg in Austria and Malta will be joining its European network from May of this year.

The launch of Wizz Air’s Abu Dhabi arm could pay dividends for the low-cost carrier by tapping into underserved markets and support the emirate by stimulating inbound tourism. This recent development reinforces the necessity for low-cost competition, and the airline will support the stimulation of leisure demand to the UAE during and post-COVID-19, according to GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.

Etihad Aviation Training (EAT) has signed a contract with Israir Airlines to offer Full-Flight Simulator pilot training for Israir Airlines’ Airbus A320 pilots.

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, has expanded its business with the launch of charter and special flight services.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the newest national airline of the UAE, on December 29, 2020 confirmed that Athens will be its inaugural destination, with flights from Abu Dhabi International Airport starting on January 15.  The airline is also to start flights from Abu Dhabi to Thessaloniki, starting on February 04.
