Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, and Garuda Indonesia, the national flag carrier of the Republic of Indonesia, are strengthening their partnership between Abu Dhabi and Jakarta and beyond their respective hubs.

Etihad Guest, the frequent flyer programme of the UAE’s national airline Etihad Airways, has partnered with The National Aquarium Abu Dhabi, hailed as the largest aquarium in the Middle East. The aquarium will participate in the “Miles on the Go” programme for Etihad Guest members to benefit from every time they visit.

Sharjah Airport recently welcomed the inaugural flight of Nile Air, one of the largest private airlines in Egypt, which flew in from Cairo International Airport. The carrier will operate two flights a week between Sharjah and Cairo on Friday and Sunday.

Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the UAE, has partnered with World Energy, a carbon-net-zero solutions provider, to operate the first NetZero flight powered entirely by Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Book & Claim, delivering delegates to COP27 with zero net emissions.

Etihad Airways has appointed Simon Newton-Smith as vice president of the Americas as the airline continues to strengthen its presence in the North American continent. 

Emirates, one of the largest international airlines, has 50 Airbus A350-900 aircraft on order with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2024.
