Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, has expanded its business with the launch of charter and special flight services.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the newest national airline of the UAE, on December 29, 2020 confirmed that Athens will be its inaugural destination, with flights from Abu Dhabi International Airport starting on January 15.  The airline is also to start flights from Abu Dhabi to Thessaloniki, starting on February 04.

Following the launch of the Etihad Greenliner Programme at the 2019 Dubai Airshow, and the arrival of the flagship Greenliner in January 2020, Etihad Airways recently officially inaugurated the latest aircraft in its journey towards sustainability, with the pioneering 2020 ecoDemonstrator entering commercial service following a series of industry-leading test flights across the US.

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, has joined the GBP65 million Digital Aviation Research and Technology Centre (DARTeC) consortium, due to open next year at Cranfield University in the UK.

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, has partnered with information technology company SITA, to trial the use of facial biometrics in order to check in cabin crew at the airlines Crew Briefing Centre at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
